2011 Junior Futurity Show, Saturday Oct. 22th - 12 noon

The "Select" Sale Consignors through their donations and ad purchases sponsor this fun and profitable activity for juniors.

Any American Hereford Junior who purchased heifers in the 2010 "Select" Sale is eligible to return this year to show those females in the 2010 Junior Futurity Show.  The top placing junior will receive a cash award of $TBA; second place $TBA; and each junior showing will receive a cash award (amount to be determined). 

To be eligible for the 2011 Show the heifer must be: 1) A bred heifer purchased as open in the 2010 sale, or 2) A First calf heifer purchased as a bred heifer in the 2010 sale, or 3) Any female progeny of a first-calf heifer purchased in the 2010 sale, or 4) a heifer purchased in the 2010 sale as bred with calf (a cow-calf entry).

The Columbia Empire Junior Show will be held in Moses Lake, Washington on Saturday, October 22nd, at the Grant County Fairgrounds. This show will be held in conjunction with the Washington Select Sale on Saturday October 22rd. 

Rules: Please Read

Conformation Classes  - Juniors may show any horned or polled heifer registered in you name, .

Cow/calf Class - Cow/calf pairs are limited to a "first calf heifer".  Her calf may be a bull, but the bull calf cannot be shown separately.

Bred and Owned Class - This animal must be out of a cow that was owned by you at breeding, and registered in your name.

Showmanship Classes - Animals shown in showmanship do not have to be owned by the contestant, as long as permission is given by the owner to use the animal.  Contestants do not have to be a member of the Junior Hereford Association to participate, but we encourage you to join!  There will be Pee Wee, Junior, Intermediate, and Senior class divisions, depending on contestant ages and class sizes.     

Junior members that purchased a heifer last year in the "Select" Sale and plan to bring her back to compete in the Saturday Futurity Show (see rules below)  are also eligible to show this animal in this Junior Show on Sunday. 

Entree Fees - The entry fee is $15.00 per animal (note increase).  Please make checks payable to "Columbia Empire Hereford Assoc.") And please send entries in by October 15th.

The CEHA Junior Show is sponsored by the Columbia Empire Hereford Association membership, various breeders, businesses, and Hereford associations in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.  Awards are given for each division winner and showmanship class.  Come and join the excitement, friendly competition, and rewarding experience, and for a chance to win something with your heifers!
